Who turned five? This girl.
The day of her actual birthday was spent traveling home from Uncle Joseph's wedding. But we made the most of her birthday on the road. We had spent the night at Warren's childhood friend's house (Matt) and when she woke up, she was greeted by birthday cards and songs from Matt's kids. Eleisha made yummy homemade blueberry muffins which we stuck a candle into.
After breakfast, Sophia took a spin in the neighbor's power wheels.
We surprised her on the plane with cupcakes and the airline attendants got on the loud speaker to wish her a happy birthday after which the whole plane sang happy birthday. Luckily that was so cool, she didn't mind that she spent her whole birthday traveling.
That night we opened presents. A new nightgown and more of her favorite children's music (Jim Gill).
A week later we had a party with friends. We did a glow-in-the-dark-dance party at the dance studio she does gym dance at. They have professional black lights and the group of girls had a blast dancing and playing around in the dark. We told everyone to wear colors that would glow and then gave people glow necklaces, bracelets, and sticks.
We gave glow in the dark silly putty, nail polish, and lip gloss as favors.

This was my favorite birthday party we have done for Sophia so far. I don't if she was just finally old enough to enjoy everything or we finally picked something she was truly excited about, but she had a smile on her face the entire time and had the best time. She was truly happy that day.
