A Day of Independence

This year we had a great relaxing 4th of July. We had originally thought of joining my parents and going camping out at Eagle Lake (near Reno), but after accepting that that would only garner us hours of Sophie crying on the long car ride, we decided to take a more restful vacation and just stay home :) The morning of the 4th we woke up and had the Sebra pancake breakfast which was followed by naptime- a glorious way to start the day. Later on we went to a friend's house for a spectacular barbeque complete with tasty hamburgers, fresh veggies from their garden and a white bean side dish that I made. It was the first time I had made the recipe and it turned out great! Here is a pic of the Sebra clan in our patriotic attire:
As it was the 4th of July, the day of independence, we also let Sophie celebrate her independence and do something we normally wouldn't let her do. We were eating popsicles that afternoon and she kept grabbing out at them, so we decided to let her have a lick! They were the Dreyers Simply Fruit bars so we figured they couldn't be that bad for her :) She seemed to enjoy it.

look at her go! she is such a patient baby! mine would have been trying to get their arms and hands to cooperate and grab it from me! she's adorable you guys! you have to come and let her slide down our new slide, since she's a master at popsicles already!
