A birthday breakfast on the family birthday plate
Next, a trip to Pump it Up Junior. Now that she is four, she found herself courageous enough to try all the slides, even the tall ones.
Soph and E riding down the big slide together.
This one has no fear and willingly threw herself down the slides.
As we left, Sophia noticed that our favorite soup place was across the street and she asked if we could go to lunch. (Or maybe I asked her :) Either way who am I to say no to a lunch date with my girls, especially on a birthday.)
Then it was over to Krispy Kreme where she redeemed her Valentine day gift card for one sprinkles birthday donut.
That evening we ventured as a family to a chic restaurant on the East Side called Tasty N Sons. (Warren and I believe that as long as we are paying and we can still have some say, we want to go to a restaurant where we can actually enjoy the food too.) We had terrific food, although I must confess that Eleanor had a diet solely of french fries that evening as she was throwing everything else to the floor, and fries were the only thing that would keep her from screaming. We thought it better for her to eat fries for a night than to disrupt all the cool 20somethings who were out on their early dates/after work drinks.
Sophia got her happy birthday song and candle with a lovely dessert of warm chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream. And we had their house made chocolate potato donut holes on the side :)
When she arrived home, she got into her jammies and upon coming downstairs for her goodnight kiss, discovered one more birthday surprise. A big girl bike.
Four, four, fabulous four!
