Fall Festivities

Many many months ago, the BYU football schedule was announced. A few hours after the announcement, I was informed that BYU was going to play Oregon State in Oregon. And I was extra lucky because the game was going to be on my birthday! Wasn't that going to be such a great 30th birthday for me?? Luckily for Warren and his health, the BYU/Oregon State game got switched to Oct. 15th :) It was then decided that we would make a Sebra celebration out of it- complete with a trip from Grandma and Grandpa.
Because we just can't get our fill of apples :) we decided to take Grandma and Grandpa Sebra to the Portland Nursery Apple Festival. This was totally awesome- completely free, activities for the kids, 30+ varieties of apples to taste, and they make hand pressed cider.

After a Friday of apple fun, it was off to the game Saturday morning. We did the drive down to Corvallis, navigated to the stadium and found a frat house lawn to park on. At $15 a car and 100 or so cars just on their little patch of land, and multiple organizations doing the same things, the folks of Corvallis were making a pretty penny.

 Sophia was often entertained by using the binoculars to find the "fake Beaver" aka the mascot.

Eleanor did a surprising good job as well. She was very entertained by the band and was often clapping along with the cheering crowd.

Towards the end of the game, Sophia entertained herself by playing with the empty chairs. (Seats started to clear near the end once it became clear the that the Cougars has dominated the Beavs.)

We loved our two big excursions with Grandma and Grandpa. But we also enjoyed the art projects, the cooking and the simple quiet moments of just hanging out.
